Workplace
volunteer programs
make good business sense;
they build a stronger community and a stronger
workforce. To recognize excellence in these programs
and the achievements that have been accomplished,
Virginia Business and VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads, the
region’s nonprofit resource center, will
present the Corporate Volunteer Excellence Awards on
December 9, 2009 at Norfolk Waterside Marriott at 8:30 a.m.
The
awards are presented at the Annual Meeting of
the Hampton Roads Corporate Volunteer Council (HRCVC),
a program of VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads. The
HRCVC is a
coalition of businesses addressing serious social
issues in Hampton Roads through hands-on community
service. The purpose of these awards is not only to
recognize outstanding achievements, but also to
uphold these honorees as role models, encouraging
other organizations to become leaders in workplace
volunteerism, too.
