Waterside Marriott. Nearly 150 individuals from
90 organizations gathered to network with area
nonprofit leaders and learn from nationally
renowned sector professionals. Attendees left

VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads proudly announces Mr.
Thomas Swanston of Chesapeake Service Systems,
Inc. as the honoree of the Excellence in
Nonprofit Leadership Prize. This award
recognizes an outstanding nonprofit chief
professional in the Hampton Roads area. Mr.
Swanston will receive a $1,000.00 award to be
used for professional development and another
$1,000.00 will be given to Chesapeake Service
Systems, Inc. The award is made possible by the
generous donors to the Ted Clarkson Fund of the
Virginia Beach Foundation and will be presented
to Mr. Swanston during the Conference Luncheon.
