Board Development Assistant
Nonprofit Board Development Assistant Unpaid Volunteer Position The mission of Tidewater Arts Outreach includes a goal to uplift the human spirit by bringing live, quality music and arts experiences to people in Hampton Roads who are in homes, hospitals, shelters, facilities and dependent care programs or otherwise are isolated from society. Reports to: Executive Director Hours: 8 hours per week The Board Development Assistant will support the Executive Director by assisting with all administrative tasks regarding the Board of Directors. This position is vital to the development of the Board who are the organizations executive volunteer fundraisers. Primary Tasks
- Update and maintain Board reference and recruitment documents
- Maintain Board pledge documents
- Track Board and partner giving in donor database
- Run reports for Board member activity in internal software programs.
- Track and update Board mentor data in donor database
- Manage monthly Board meeting scheduling
- Utilize Google Docs to help maintain Board reference document links
Skills, Education and Experience
- Desire to support mission of TAO
- Organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently
- Good internet, research and computer skills
- Experience working with a Board of Directors a plus
Ideal candidates have had experience working with a Board of Directors and executive level professionals. Volunteer must supply a copy of current driver’s license or other photo ID for identification purposes and are subject to a background check. Applicants are accepted on an ongoing basis.
