Music & Arts Program-ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT Unpaid Volunteer Position Description This volunteer role is vital to the smooth operation of our arts programs and a detail-oriented, a regular volunteer is perfect for this volunteer opportunity. Reports to: Creative Services Director & Volunteer Program Director Hours: After initial in-office training on Wednesdays 11am-1pm, this opportunity will require 2 hours/week at our Norfolk Office. Location: 809 Brandon Ave, Suite 300, Norfolk, VA 23517. Description: Volunteer will provide administrative support to Creative Programs staff at the Norfolk Office and report to the Creative Services Director & Volunteer Program Director of Tidewater Arts Outreach. Laptop/workstation provided. Primary Tasks: (Wednesdays 11am-1pm- for 4 training sessions. 2 Hrs/wk thereafter on a consistent schedule between 10am & 5pm M-F.) Schedule is flexible after initial training. • Assist with contact and program data entry/database management in Microsoft Access, Google Drive/Docs, & other software programs as needed. • Assist with printing confirmation letters from ACCESS and preparing for mail. • Have his/her own transportation/vehicle. Skills, Education and Experience: 1. Possess a formal higher education and/or professional work experience including office administration, and writing equivalent to a college degree. 2. Be an organized self-starter with excellent communication skills, comfort with internet research and mastery of Microsoft Office suite software. All applicants are subject to a background check.
