Favorite volunteer activity: There are so many great organizations and opportunities in the Hampton Roads area! The RocSolid Playground Build for a child with cancer is definitely one of my favorite activities that AvalonBay has participated in so far, along with Family Volunteer Day. Anything that supports children and animals is right up my alley!
Reason for being involved with HRCVC: The HRCVC has been invaluable in growing the Employee Volunteer Program at AvalonBay Communities. Now that AvalonBay is winding down the third year partnering with the HRCVC and fourth year operating the Spirit of Caring Committee, I feel we are surpassing the initial goals and expectations for the program. The committee's mission and interests are well defined, associate participation is diverse across the Customer Care Center, and the processes to schedule, communicate and recognize participation are greatly improved.
Diana Haynes - Vice President

Previous work history and/or education: Operations Management for 10+ years.
Favorite volunteer activity: Anything that involves children! I am a mother of three wonderful daughters and I absolutely adore children - so anytime I can make an impact on our youth, I try to!
Reason for being involved with HRCVC: It’s a wonderful way to give back to the community I work and live in, fulfills my personal commitment to volunteer and make an impact as well as represent my company, PRA Group, as the giving company I know them to be. It’s also very inspiring to be surrounded with like-minded professionals. The HRCVC provides a unique opportunity to partner with non-profit organizations throughout Hampton Roads while net-working with other businesses.

Favorite volunteer activity: As an ordained minister, I get to meet and serve wonderful people and help them to lift their quality of life – spiritually, emotionally, physically, mentally and financially. So my favorite activity varies on the needs of the people I serve.
Reason for being involved with HRCVC: There is strength in numbers! I enjoy being partnered with like-minded organizations and individuals who are impacting the HR community through service.
