Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

Make the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, "A day on, not a day off."

"“Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve... You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”."
~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Calvary Revival Church
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Dr. King believed that a person’s worth should be measured not by color, culture or class but by a commitment to making a better life for others. Locally, youth and adults are brought together for a project that reinforces Dr. King's message of civic engagement.

Adult volunteers partner with elementary school age children in activities including crafts and group discussions based on Dr. King’s teachings. Youth volunteers create thank you cards for the military and inscribe book plates that are placed in books to be donated to local youth shelters. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a Seasons of Service Day — a portfolio of one-day, community-wide volunteer projects that illustrate how a single day of service can grow into an ongoing habit of helping communities.
