Volunteers needed to deliver meals to seniors in the 757

Senior Services of Southeastern VA in coordination with Beth Sholom Village Volunteers are needed to deliver meals for over 600 seniors a week in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake. Pick up location: Beth Sholom Village Pick up time: 8:00 am Meal Deliveries Routes are created to be efficient for the driver. You will receive more information at the volunteer site. Coolers, camo bags, and other items must be returned to volunteer site upon completion of your route. Health & Safety Volunteers must bring their own masks and wear them at all times. ​Social distancing must always be maintained (6ft-8ft). Please do not volunteer if you have recently been in contact with someone with COVID-19, have flu-like symptoms, or have recently traveled to a COVID-19 hotspot.

Weekend grocery distribution to a local neighborhood

We are looking for volunteers to help us distribute groceries in our adopted neighborhood. We need your help to load up the delivery truck and set up on site to distribute groceries. We will meet at the Dream Center, and drive to the distribution site after loading the truck.

Food Distribution-St. Paul Community

Volunteers will work at a local food pantry to distribute food to the St. Paul community. Volunteers will assist with unloading the Mobile Pantry truck and with the distribution of the food, working with a staff person, or a trained Volunteer Team Leader. After expressing interest, you will receive emailed instructions to complete your registration. Volunteers must be minimum 16 years of age for this activity. For the safety of our most vulnerable populations, we strongly discourage anyone from volunteering who might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Volunteers are expected to bring and wear their own face mask/shield—they will not be provided by the Foodbank. Please consider wearing sunscreen and appropriate clothing for the weather.

Biomedical Transportation Specialist

Do you like to help people and save lives ? If so, the Blood Transportation Specialist role is for you! As a Red Cross Volunteer you help to provide excellent and professional customer service in a medical setting to deliver our life- saving product to hospitals and testing facilities. Responsibilities Transportation of blood to area hospitals as routine or "stat" deliveries Pick up and return empty boxes as needed Drive in safe and responsible manner This is a flexible transportation / driver position. Transportation Specialists can volunteer on days that fit their schedules! Preferred commitment: 2 - 4 shifts per month. Four hours per shift Qualifications Willingness to support Red Cross Mission Valid state driver's license-3 years driving experience Ability to lift up to 45 pounds (for Hospital Deliveries) Successful completion of American Red Cross Defensive Driving Course (within 6 months of placement)


Drivers to deliver supplies and groceries to at-risk people - Eastern Shore

Shore Delivery Corps needs volunteers willing to deliver needed supplies and groceries (to their doorstep) to citizens on the Eastern Shore who are the highest risk from COVID-19. We welcome volunteers from all regions, but please note that the work is concentrated on the Eastern Shore which requires that you come across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel if you are not already on the Eastern Shore. Requirements: must submit a background check, be 18-64; have a valid driver’s license; and at low risk for Covid-19. PLEASE COMPLETE "EXPRESS INTEREST" (listed below) first to register for the Shore Deliver Corps -Eastern Shore project.   • Do not volunteer if you have come into contact with someone who is sick
  • Do not volunteer if you are high risk for complications from COVID-19
  • Do not volunteer if you have traveled to any area highly impacted by COVID-19
  • Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with warm water and soap
  • Do not engage in physical contact with anyone while attending a volunteer event
