The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore provides food to seniors, children, and food-insecure families in the community. Volunteers are needed to help build food distribution boxes to meet current distribution demands.

ForKids, Inc. | Packing Thanksgiving Baskets

ForKids' mission is to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty for families and children. They work towards that mission via housing assistance, adult and children's education, and wrap-around services. Volunteers will create Thanksgiving Baskets for families involved in their programs.

Girl Scout Council of The Colonial Coast | Building & Grounds Maintenance

Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast helps girls discover, connect, and take action as they develop strong values, a social conscience, and a deep sense of self and empowerment. Volunteers are needed to stain handicap ramps, til sand in their fitness course, and pressure wash the decking and fencing at their headquarters in Chesapeake.

Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast helps girls discover, connect, and take action as they develop strong values, a social conscience, and a deep sense of self and empowerment. Volunteers are needed to paint the exterior and interior of buildings at Camp Darden in Courtland and Camp Skimino in Williamsburg

Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads | Painting Welcome Sign

Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads’ mission is to build affordable homes that strengthen families and communities in South Hampton Roads. Volunteers are needed to paint welcome signs from reclaimed pallet wood. The signs will be used as a housewarming gift for new homebuyers to keep on their front porches.

Hampton Roads Urban Agriculture | Urban Community Gardening

Hampton Roads Urban Agriculture plants and manages a vegetable garden in a low-income community, providing fresh produce to them free of charge. Volunteers are needed to harvest cool weather crops, remove weeds, prepare the garden for winter, and make lawn games for community days at the garden.

Hoffler Creek Wildlife Foundation | Wildflower Seed Bombs

Hoffler Creek Wildlife Foundation manages this 142-acre preserve, the last parcel of land in the Hoffler Creek watershed, for conservation, education, research, and recreation consistent with good stewardship. Volunteers are needed to create wildflower seed bombs that will enhance the pollinator gardens established over the last few years.

Judeo Christian Outreach Center | Thanksgiving Food Distribution

Judeo-Christian Outreach Center feeds the hungry and houses the homeless through a variety of feeding and housing programs. Volunteers are needed to pack food in preparation for Thanksgiving.

Keep Norfolk Beautiful | Love Our Park

Keep Norfolk Beautiful works to beautify Norfolk through education and volunteerism to maintain clean, safe, and resilient neighborhoods. Volunteers are needed to clean up litter, paint trashcans, and beautify the park. This project is designed to enhance the park experience for all park-goers by creating a cleaner, more beautiful green space.

Norfolk Botanical Gardens | Garden Beautification

The mission of Norfolk Botanical Garden is to immerse visitors in a world of beauty, lead through environmental action, and inspire through education and connection to nature. Volunteers are needed to mulch, remove English Ivy, and brick edge borders in their subtropical path and colonial gardens.

The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Command | Thanksgiving Community Meal

The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Area Command serves families in need with emergency assistance, housing, substance abuse treatment, youth enrichment opportunities, spiritual care, and emergency disaster services. Volunteers are needed to serve food to over 300 members of the community in need of a hot meal.

Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia | Porch Maintenance and Update

Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia supports and enriches the lives of seniors through advocacy, education, information, and comprehensive services such as Meals on Wheels. Volunteers are needed to repair and freshen up a Meals on Wheels client's front porch.

Wesley Community Service Center’s mission is to operate programs and services aimed at empowering Portsmouth’s Southside communities to improve their quality of life. Volunteers are needed to sort and deliver produce and other perishables to clients in their drive-thru.
