Memorial Garden Clean Up | Virginia Beach SPCA

Volunteers are needed to rake leaves, tend to flower beds, and help with general clean-up of the memorial garden, a place where the community can place stones in remembrance of their pet companion. Cleaning this area up will provide a space for the community to honor and remember their beloved pet companions.

This project will be completed onsite in Virginia Beach. Morning shifts are available Monday, Wednesday, or Friday.


Front Yard Clean Up | Virginia Beach SPCA

Volunteers are needed to help with outside yard work, raking leaves, tending to flower beds, and general clean-up of the area. After winter, our front yard always needs sprucing up.

This project will be completed onsite in Virginia Beach. Morning shifts are available Monday, Wednesday, or Friday.


Birthday Box Assembly | Children's Health Investment Program-CHIP

Volunteers are needed to assemble and wrap supplies for birthday party boxes. Families living at the edge of poverty don't have the economic or emotional resources to purchase supplies for a small birthday party. With all of the needed supplies, from the pan for the cake to the party hats, they will be able to celebrate their children's birthdays.

Shoe Drive Sorting | Communities In Schools of Hampton Roads

Volunteers are needed to sort, count, and organize new and gently worn shoes collected from our shoe drive fundraiser. This fundraiser reinforces Communities In Schools of Hampton Roads' mission of surrounding students with a community of support helping them to achieve in life

This project will be completed onsite in Portsmouth. Morning shifts are available Monday-Friday.


Urban Vegetable Garden Planting | Hampton Roads Urban Agriculture

Volunteers are needed to plant, hoe, weed, and fertilize the Hampton Roads Urban Agriculture vegetable garden. Hampton Roads Urban Agriculture plants and manages a vegetable garden in a low-income community, providing fresh produce to them free of charge.

This project will be completed onsite in Newport News. Morning shifts are available Monday-Friday.


No Sew Fleece Blanket Making | Seton Youth Shelters

Volunteers are needed to create no-sew fleece blankets for children in foster care. Frequently, youth come into foster care with few belongings and they would benefit from receiving this essential item.

This project can be completed remotely.

 

Community Center Refreshing | Wesley Community Service Center

Volunteers are needed to help with planting seasonal flowers, painting hallways, sealing doors, changing light bulbs, and cleaning unused sections of the building. Wesley Community Service Center’s mission is to operate programs and services aimed at empowering the powerless and poor in Portsmouth’s Southside communities. The refreshed buildings will offer a welcoming environment for families and individuals who visit our food pantry and shelter.
