JOB POSITION: Intern- Parents As Teachers
SUPERVISOR: Prevention Services Supervisor and Assigned Parent Educator(s)
SUPERVISEE: None Time Commitment: Minimum of one year of service
DUTIES Under the direction of the Director of Prevention Services and assigned Parent Educator within the limitations of agency policy, the incumbent shall execute the following duties
- Develop and facilitate monthly Parent Group for program participants.
- Assure that attendance records, evaluations and/or assessment materials for groups are completed and submitted by parents.
- Assist families in linking to community resources and developing support networks within the community.
- Develop and implement home visits and clinical services for assigned program participant(s).
- Document planning, home visits, clinical services and peer reviews within the specified time period.
- Develop and implement training workshops for staff regarding mental health services.
- Participate in monthly group Reflective Supervision with staff.
- Participate in weekly and monthly supervision with the Supervisors
Qualifications
- Must have experience working with children and families as well as knowledge and skills in group dynamics.
- Minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s Degree in the Human Services or other related field.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required. Availability of hours and holidays based upon local public-school system calendar.
