Refurbish/Repair Adaptive Equipment
Volunteers are needed to refubrish and repair gently used pieces of adaptive equipment that are donated to the program. CATS will provide the equipment and the parts, but we need people with some mechanical know-how to work on pieces that need repair prior to being given to a child that needs it. Examples would include repairing/replacing wheel locks on a wheelchair or stroller, replacing footrest on a wheelchair or stroller, installing new bearings to the foot pedals of an adaptive tricycle, fixing flat tires, etc. Volunteers can "adopt" one or two pieces of equipment at a time, and do the work at their own home workshop. CATS will provide oversight and has experienced wheelchair technicians that can answer questions and/or provide assistance via FaceTime, etc or at the technician's shop as needed.
