Elevate to Educate
The Junior League of Norfolk-Virginia Beach (JLNVB) is excited to announce its newest signature event, Elevate to Educate! Elevate to Educate is a community initiative whose purpose is to improve the learning environment for elementary students in Hampton Roads. We believe that by elevating schools in need, we can create a lasting impact for students, staff, and surrounding communities.
Elevate to Educate is inspired by last year's Project Makeover Hampton Roads (PMHR), during which more than 300 volunteers came together to makeover Jacox Elementary School in Norfolk, VA. The makeover included painting 35 murals, adding 350 new plants to the school grounds and butterfly garden, painting over 2000 sq. ft. of outdoor play space, updating the school bathrooms with a motivational quote hand-painted on each stall door, building 4 new picnic tables and more.
Our 2019 School of the Year is Little Creek Elementary School. The Elevate to Educate Weekend will take place from Friday, August 9th - Sunday, August 11th. Volunteers will help to elevate the school through landscaping, painting interactive and educational murals throughout common spaces, and revitalizing the school play spaces. Please complete the following form to indicate when you will be volunteering with Elevate to Educate this year!
**Closer to the actual weekend, we will send out confirmation emails with more instructions on what to expect from the weekend.**
If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at email@example.com. This is a rain or shine event.
