Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the LIFT program at Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center Norfolk, VA.
LIFT Fitness Foundation creates a foundation of wellness to empower individuals in need to move forward in their lives. We are starting a 60-Day Program working with individuals at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center.
Primary volunteer responsibilities include recording attendance, pedometer readings and fitness assessment scores, facilitating and joining in group discussions, writing encouraging notes for graduation, encouraging and supporting participants during exercise and having fun! The program begins September 12th and runs through November 7th. Sessions will be from 6:45 pm - 7:45pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Volunteers will need to arrive 15 minutes prior to session.
In an effort to build trust and consistency for our participating Athletes, we ask that you sign up for at least HALF the program sessions (8). You are only signed up to participate once you have scheduled and confirmed 8 sessions with us.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Each LIFT session is one hour long consisting of fitness and/or group discussions.
- Please arrive a few minutes early to help set up if needed and to mingle/connect with the athletes as they come in.
