Volunteer Relief Receptionists
Help us end hunger and homelessness in Hampton Roads!
JCOC is looking for upbeat, compassionate indivduals to cover the front desk at our Admin office on an as needed basis. The main responsibilities will be to answer a four line phone system and greet visitors to the office. Volunteers will provide information regarding our feeding and housing programs; share how to obtain shelter; sign up individuals for food pantry and family food box programs; and answer inquiries about volunteer opportunities and making donations. Volunteers may also assist with basic office tasks. Prior volunteer or work experience in an office setting and answering a multi-line phone system is a plus, but not required. Training is available.
Office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00-5:00 pm. Volunteers can serve all day or in shifts.
The office is open to the public. Masks are optional for staff, volunteers and visitors. The front desk has a protective shield.

3. Following the orientation, you will be scheduled for one-on-one training with JCOC's Administrative Assistant.
