Write cards for the elderly- cards supplied - Porch Pick-Up & Drop-off
Compassion Cards ! Great volunteer oppotrunity for individuals, families, kids, adults, corporate volunteers, students - all ages welcome!
We’re partnering with VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads to ensure that as many senior citizens as possible can receive weekly hand-written cards. These cards will let folks know they’re not forgotten during this time of necessary isolation.
Once we receieve your inquiry, will send you the next step to get started! Once you’ve been vetted to volunteer, you’ll be assigned a Volunteer ID Number for pick-up and drop-off. You can commit to writing 25, 50, 75, or 100 cards at a time. Once you’ve designated your preferences, we will create a kit for you to pick up. Please note that you are responsible for picking up and dropping off materials. You are required to return finished cards to us within one week. If you are using your own stationery, this rule doesn't apply. Pick up and Drop off both take place in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake. An address will be shared with you once you've been approved as a volunteer.
Supplies Needed
You will need whatever writing utensils you’re comfortable with. Pens or markers will do just fine! You will be provided with cards to write, but if you have your own stationery, that’s fine too! You can also use stickers, and feel free to get creative!

Our Porch Pick-Up & Drop-off will be available every Wednesday from 9am-7pm.
