Stephanie Gorham, CEO
Stephanie Gorham is a seasoned nonprofit development professional with 20 years’ experience with nonprofits in Texas and Virginia. She received her bachelor’s degree from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, and is currently working on her MBA from Virginia Wesleyan University. Volunteerism, board service especially, has been an important part of her life as she has served on nonprofit boards since 2009, currently serving Hampton Roads Workforce Council, Southeastern Virginia Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, and Healthier757 boards. She is a 2012 recipient of the Top 20 Under 40 in North Texas, and a 2019 graduate of the CIVIC Leadership Institute. Stephanie resides in Chesapeake with her husband Jim Gorham, a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy, and their four kids, Kaitlyn, Greyson, Lily, and Sally.
Olga González Nichols, Deputy Director
Olga González Nichols has worked in operations for nonprofits for 15 years in database administration, donor relations, volunteer management, and overall fundraising operations. She comes to VHR from most recently from Tidewater Community College where she served at the Educational Foundation managing fundraising operations. Olga is originally from Costa Rica and a recent New York transplant to Hampton Roads. She holds a B.S. in Journalism from John Brown University, and also works as a freelance translator and interpreter.
Lexie Martinez became involved with Volunteer Hampton Roads in November 2017 when she started as a Public Relations and Marketing Intern. Volunteerism has been a part of her life since high school when she began volunteering for various outreach programs through her church. She holds a bachelor's degree in communications and is passionate about making a difference in the community through nonprofit work.
Chris Rice, Operations Manager
Chris Rice is new to the nonprofit world but not to Volunteer Hampton Roads. As the owner of Music Makes You Happy Entertainment, he has played music and emceed a number of events for VHR over the past few years. Chris has a BA from Christopher Newport University, is a 2018 recipient of the Inside Business Top 40 Under 40 award and was awarded the Suffolk Small Business of the Year in 2017 and again in 2020 by the Hampton Roads Chamber. Currently, Chris serves on the Suffolk Economic Development Authority Board and is the Chair Elect of the Suffolk Board of the Hampton Roads Chamber. He lives in Suffolk with his wife Erin and their two children, Cecilia and Anthony.
