Set up for Gifts of Joy Wonderland
H.E.R Shelter staff is hoping for volunteers to assist in preparing the space for the Gifts of Joy Wonderland as well as helping to ensure the success of resident “Shopping” days.
This year for our Christmas Gift program, we are again creating a Gifts of Joy Wonderland. A local church will be set up as gift shop to give our residents the opportunity to “Shop” for Christmas gifts for themselves and their children from community donations. Oftentimes, Holidays can be the saddest season for families in shelter, but we know that letting the moms personally shop for their families will give them a sense of gratitude when they see their children’s faces light up on Christmas morning! Due to COVID-19, we will be taking extra precautions and limiting the client-staff interactions, as well as the number of clients “Shopping” at a time.
