Chaperones for work tours for high school students with disabilities

We are in need of volunteers for this spring and summer on an as-needed basis to help chaperone work tours at various employers in Hampton Roads. Hired Hands a Division of VersAbility will be working with high school students with disabilities this spring and summer through the DARS Pre-ETS Program. The purpose of these work tours will be to expose the students to different fields and job possibilities to help them think about what they might be interested in for the future. These tours may also include a Q&A session with employers and mock interviews to practice interview skills.

Volunteer(s) assist our Skills Trainers in chaperoning larger groups of students. The Skills Trainers will facilitate the tours with the employers.

The location will vary. Interested volunteers, please express interest below. The volunteer coordinator will contact you and direct you then to complete a volunteer application with VersAbility and go through a background check and screening process required by VersAbility. When work tours are scheduled, volunteers will be contacted to see if they are available and given the details of the tours at that time.
