29th Annual Shamrockin in Ghent
Shamrockin’ in Ghent is Hope House Foundation’s annual St. Patrick’s Day block party on Colley Avenue in Ghent. It is presented by SouthernBank. The fun includes live music from the Tidewater Pipes and Drums, the Fighting Jamesons, and more. There will also be delicious food, as well as festive adult beverages! This event is free and open to the public. Volunteers are needed to help with pouring beer, assisting event organizers, and clean up.
The event benefits Hope House Foundation, a nonprofit which provides services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities exclusively in their own homes or apartments.
This annual St. Patrick’s Day event shuts down Colley Avenue between Shirley Avenue and Gates Avenue in Ghent and continues to draw attendees from all over Hampton Roads in the thousands. Always held the Friday before St. Patrick’s Day in March.
