Family VOLUNTEER Day 2014

VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads is hosting the 16th annual Family VOLUNTEER Day! This event will involve packing 800 boxes of food that will be delivered to 12 local homeless and domestic abuse shelters and the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. Volunteers are needed to help set-up, pack boxes and load delivery trucks.

Location: Batten Student Center at Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Virginia (Directions & Parking Map)
Raffle Tickets will be available for $1.00 and T-Shirts for $2.00.
Please note, that while there is no specific age limit, this is a crowded gym with hundreds of volunteers - please be cautious with young children.
Volunteers must be able to stand for a long period of time and the volunteer activity will often involve carrying heavy food items.
Space is limited. Families and teams are limited to 15 people (including adults and children). You must login to an existing account or create a new account to register for this specific event. Follow these instructions and you will receive a SECOND email stating “Opportunity Sign-Up Confirmation."
Register as an individual:

Once you are directed to the “Success! Thank you for registering” page, you must click on the green button that states “Return to Opportunity Page"
From this page, scroll to the bottom and click the “Sign Up” button. You will automatically be directed to a “Success!” webpage and receive an event confirmation email
Register as a family or team:
Login to your existing account or create a new account
Go to “My Account” in the blue bar across the screen
Click on “Create a New Team” in the left hand, blue column
Once complete, click on “Find an Opportunity” in the blue section above
Under Basic Search, type “Family VOLUNTEER Day 2014”
Click on the opportunity and review details
For a family/team, click on the “Or sign up with a team” option
Select “Option 1: Choose One Of Your Teams”
Choose the team members that will participate in this event and click the green “Submit” button
You will automatically be directed to a “Success!” webpage and receive an event confirmation email
If you need to go back and add members to your team, go to “My Account” (top blue bar), click on “My Teams” (side blue column) and select the green “Manage Team” button.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 1+, Minimum Age:16+
