Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)
A CASA is a professionally trained volunteer appointed by the Juvenile Court to advocate for the best interest of children who have been abused and/or neglected. By working alongside attorneys, social workers and other professionals, CASAs expedite permanency ensuring that children do not linger in the foster care system. Volunteers with receive 30 hours of training instructing them how to advocate for abused and neglected children. Upon successful completion of training, volunteers are expected to accept a case assignment and fulfill all duties towards advocating for a child's best interest.
