The Empowerment Neurofitness and Wellness Center - Board Position

Ideal Candidate

The ideal board member for The Empowerment Neurofitness and Wellness Center is passionate about improving the lives of individuals with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and stroke recovery. They believe in the power of movement, community, and compassionate care to transform lives. We are seeking individuals who bring a blend of leadership, lived experience, and professional expertise to support our mission. Our strongest board candidates: Believe in our mission and are committed to advocating for accessible neurofitness and wellness services. Bring experience in one or more of the following areas: Healthcare or therapy Nonprofit governance or leadership Fundraising, development, or grant writing Marketing, public relations, or community outreach Legal, financial, or operational strategy Are willing to actively participate by attending meetings, supporting events, and serving on committees. Understand the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in serving a wide range of clients and communities. Are connectors and collaborators, eager to introduce new opportunities, partnerships, or resources. May be a caregiver, advocate, or person with lived experience of neurological conditions. Above all, our ideal board member is compassionate, reliable, and ready to be a champion for empowerment, hope, and wellness in the neuro community.

The Empowerment Neurofitness and Wellness Center serves individuals living with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), and stroke recovery. Our clients include people of all ages and backgrounds who are seeking hope, healing, and community in the face of life-changing diagnoses. Many experience challenges with mobility, balance, strength, coordination, and daily function. Some face cognitive changes, emotional stress, and social isolation. Despite these obstacles, our clients show incredible resilience and determination. They come to us not only for specialized fitness programs but for a place where they are seen, supported, and empowered. We also serve caregivers and family members through education, support groups, and wellness programming—because we believe in healing the whole system, not just the symptoms. As a board member, you’ll play a key role in helping us create a space where individuals are not defined by their diagnosis but celebrated for their strength. Your leadership and advocacy will help us expand access to life-changing programs and build a stronger, more inclusive community.
