Tutors needed at Nursing CAP, Inc.'s (Monthly Sessions - 1st Saturday)

If you’re passionate about education and have some free time on your hands, there’s a great opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of middle and high school students. Volunteers are needed on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 09:15 AM - 12:30 PM at Sentara Obici Hospital Classrooms ABCD or Amedeo Classroom - 2800 Godwin Blvd., Suffolk. You’ll have the chance to mentor and tutor students in person in Science and Math, with subjects ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus, and Earth Science to Physics.

In addition to assisting with academic subjects, volunteers will also help with setting up the classroom, greeting students at the hospital entrance, walking with them in the hospital setting, distributing snacks during tutoring sessions, and breaking down the room at the end of each session. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people and give back to your community. So, if you have a passion for education and want to make a positive impact, consider volunteering your time and skills. Special projects may also be available throughout the academic year as needed, so come be a part of this rewarding experience!

A background check is required to participate in this event. Additional instructions on how to complete the background check will be shared with you after you have signed up for the opportunity.
