Get ready to rally your team and make a powerful impact on our local students! VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads is excited to announce our Back-to-School Supply Challenge, a friendly competition between Corporate Volunteer Council member companies to see who can donate the most essential school supplies for students in Hampton Roads.
We’re partnering with Communities In Schools Hampton Roads, a nonprofit whose mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Any company can join the challenge! Companies that are members of the Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC) are eligible to win a holiday volunteer project facilitated by VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads — a perfect opportunity to bring your team together while giving back during the season of giving. Companies must join CVC prior to July 31 to be eligible to win.
How It Works
Register Your Company
Any company can join the challenge! To register, simply email Alana Slaughter at aslaughter@volunteerhr.org and get added to the competition.
Collect Supplies
Encourage your employees to donate new school supplies between June 1 and July 31.
Most-needed items include:
- Pencils & Pens
- Paper (Loose-leaf or Spiral)
- Dry Erase Markers
- Notebooks & Composition Books
- Tissues & Sanitizing Wipes
Track Your Donations
A tracking spreadsheet will be provided with guidelines for reporting items collected. Weekly leaderboards will be posted on the VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads website to keep the competition exciting!
Coordinate Collection
Bring your donations to the next CVC meeting on August 7. Help prepare supply bundles and hear firsthand from Communities In Schools about the difference your donations will make.
