Volunteer Coordinator - Unpaid position

Job Profile and Description
This is a volunteer position. No remuneration is available. 
Hoffler Creek Wildlife Preserve Foundation is looking for a special person with some extra time and a lot of love for the great outdoors to help recruit and manage volunteers for a variety of jobs at Hoffler Creek Wildlife Preserve.  Hoffler Creek Wildlife Preserve Foundation is expanding its Volunteer Program to develop highly trained, knowledgeable volunteers to assist with the kayaking program, visitor information, outreach, and administrative tasks to expand the reach of its staff and Board for the betterment of the organization. This position will require 5 – 20 hours a week depending on the frequency of events and volunteer staffing needs. 
Duties and Responsibilities of a Volunteer Coordinator
1.	Recruit the right people to work as volunteers for a particular kind of job by searching, identifying and interviewing them.
2.	Provide needed support to HCWF staff.
3.	Work with staff to create a schedule of tasks and assign volunteers accordingly.
4.	Maintain a schedule of all volunteer assignments.
5.	Facilitate orientation and training of volunteers.  
6.	Apprise the staff of the work done by the volunteers.
7.	Motivate and encourage the volunteers to remain focused in their work and do their best.
8.	Work with staff to continuously improve the volunteer program, develop volunteer training and incentives, and maintain a highly knowledgeable volunteer body. 
Skills and Specifications Required
1.	Strong organization and management skills.
2.	Positive, enthusiastic attitude, team work ability and leadership qualities.
3.	Good communication and people skills.
4.	Strong networking and socializing skills.
5.	Willingness to learn and understand the specific goals and objectives of Hoffler Creek Wildlife Foundation and support and uphold the usage restrictions of Hoffler Creek Wildlife Preserve.
Education and Qualification
1.	Previous experience managing volunteers or managing staff is plus. 
2.	A degree or diploma in a related subject is preferred. 
3.	Basic training in accounting skills or data base skills. 
4.	Basic knowledge of computers and MS Office for documentation is necessary.
