Ideal Candidate
Our ideal board candidate is more than work experience and education. The qualities of a good nonprofit board member include a passion for the cause, enthusiasm, and excitement for helping in a variety of ways, combined with concrete preparation and action. We need board members to serve on board engagement and development committees. We are a major community institution based in Town Center of Virginia Beach. We have a $1.4 million operating budget and need board members who can "give and get" charitable donations. Opening doors to new corporate sponsorships of performances and festivals would be incredibly helpful.

Zeiders American Dream Theater has a unique mission to create new works and support local exceptionally talented artists in our beautiful theater in Town Center. Each year more than 10,000 people attend 200 performances at The Z. Our clients are as diverse as our community. Our Family Time Series has about 14 unique performances each year, currently showing The Elf and the Reindeer for the little ones. We perform live music, musicals, stage plays, and have a resident comedy group called Plan B. We have three festivals that bring in thousands of people to Town Center. They are the Fringe Festival, Proteus Festival and Vocal Jazz Festival.

Board Member Financial Contribution Policy
We ask for 100% board giving. The goal is for each board member to give or get $2,500 and about half the board achieves that goal yearly.
