Guest Speaker: WINKS Encouraging Nods Support Group - November
WINKS- With INtentional Kindness and Support is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the brain tumor community.
We are currently looking for a volunteer guest speaker to lead a discussion on Life Beyond Cancer – Healing, Hope, and Moving Forward during our Encouraging Nods Support Group on November 20 from 6pm – 8pm at the Hampton University Proton Cancer Institute 40 Enterprise Pkwy Hampton, VA 23666.
Topics of interest for this discussion could include:
- Adjusting to life after treatment or ongoing care
- Finding meaning and purpose beyond the diagnosis
- Practicing gratitude, mindfulness, and long-term well-being
Our support group has between 3-6 regular attendees, and meets at the Hampton University Proton Cancer Institute, with many of our members tuning in online. Speakers should be knowledgeable, flexible, compassionate, and willing to learn from and collaborate with those in the middle of their brain tumor journey.

OUR MISSION:
WINKS’ mission is to enhance the quality of life for brain tumor patients and caregivers, to ensure that no journey is traveled alone. WINKS is the only nonprofit organization focused solely on brain tumor patients and caregivers in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Through its Empathy in Action program, WINKS provides emotional, financial, logistical, and informational support services. WINKS’ vision is to lift the burdens for brain tumor patients and their caregivers, so they can focus on the fight. Our working Board is passionate and committed to the brain tumor community and includes people who are personally connected to this journey. We are seeking passionate people, who have a desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
