CLEAN THE BAY DAY (Suffolk, VA @ Constant's Wharf & Sleepy Hole Park)
Come on out for this year's Clean the Bay Day on June 7, from 9am until 12pm! This is a land and water-based cleanup taking place on the Nansemond River at Constant's Wharf Park & Marina (100 E. Constance Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434) AND at Sleepy Hole Park (4616 Sleepy Hole Road, Suffolk, VA 23435).
There is plenty to clean up on land, but any volunteers with kayaks or canoes are encouraged to bring them to participate from the water. Cleanup supplies such as grabbers, reflective vests, gloves, and bags will be provided at the cleanup site.
The Chesapeake Bay is a vital body of water and resources. Most local litter finds its way to our waterways, all of which lead to the bay. This is our chance to contribute to the overall well-being of this very important resource! There are over 11,000 miles of shoreline between the bay and its tributaries, so every volunteer counts!
